During one of his final public and only independent based media interviews with Meidas Touch’s, Ben Meiselas; President, Joe Biden, was asked why he would not take the low road approach and skip the Inauguration on January 20th, as his predecessor did four years ago. He summarized that, that is not what the Constitution allows citizens to do. His perspective was that no one person was too big for the principals laid out by our founders. A stark contrast when the President discussed the perspective of Donald Trump and how he sees America serving him instead of him serving the Constitution.
Meanwhile, ‘progressive’ news outlet, The Young Turks, has slowly turned into a ‘center right’ outlet having been found to have been possibly financially buffeted by libertarian donors, to leave behind their former values. The same organization I went in with, signing a petition to ask President Biden to step down in July. Sure, it was apparent that President Biden is struggling with his mental acuity. He certainly would have lost this year’s election at roughly the same margins Vice President Harris did, due to people’s perception of that issue plus well-oiled right-wing propaganda that purveyed the false analysis that inflation was his fault. His struggles were still very much apparent during his interview with Meidas Touch. Yet, what was forgotten by so many progressives such as I and even any other citizen, was how honorable and competent of a man President Biden was. How dishonorable, the staff at The Young Turks was found to be over the past month after being exposed as frauds. How misguided my actions were in listening to the TYT’s Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, siding with them and signing that petition. Of course, hindsight as they say is always 50/50. Yet, looking at my recent past it felt more like a zero-sum outcome of 100/0. I tell myself how was I to know? But it doesn’t make me feel better about being a small cog in the toxic wheel of telling such an accomplished man, ‘your time is up’ in our opinion. Especially, after he had done so much. Ben’s interview last week made me feel like garbage. I DESERVED TO FEEL LIKE GARBARGE. The fine folks at TYT certainly do. For many more reasons than I, though. Meidas Touch Network has been a beacon of light against authoritarianism, insanity and the TYTs of the left. They were faithful to Joe throughout the entire cycle. They deserved their interview with him. Watching it made me feel like I was against two honorable institutions by what I had done last summer. I made the best decision I thought I could in the heat of the moment. Looking at the results of our fever of work and dissent against what we thought would be a losing proposition, how were we to know it would not matter in the end as we lost anyway? Any gambler will tell you that’s how it goes. When you set out to push the future in your favor, you look at it from an optimistic perspective in your present reality. There is no other way to do it, unless a gambler wants to go into a fatalistic viewpoint of life. No gambler does that, because if they did, they never would gamble in the first place! They’d thus lose their moniker as a gambler. That’s the reality regarding decisions and consequences. A paradigm that will become all too real for Trump voters in four years. Likely in a horrific way for a lot of them. But I’m discussing me and President Joe, now! President Biden, I offer my sincerest apology. You were so much more than some of us deserved this summer! I just didn’t know. Now I do and I can’t change a damn thing about it!
